Set up Export to QuickBooks (Sync Manager)

Following are instructions to send your payroll data from Intuit Full Service Payroll to QuickBooks through Intuit Sync Manager.

Before you start

Before you start, make sure QuickBooks and your computer system are set up correctly.

When you're ready

When you're ready, connect your Intuit Full Service Payroll account with QuickBooks using Sync Manager.

  1. On the Home page, under Related Activities, click Export to QuickBooks. Want to export to QuickBooks? Set up your export preferences.
  2. Choose QuickBooks for Windows > Recommended: Sync my Full Service Payroll with QuickBooks
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Select if you've already set up Sync Manager. If you haven't set up Sync Manager, continue to the next step. If you have, skip to step 9.
  5. Open your QuickBooks company file and choose File > Set Up Intuit Sync Manager.

    For older versions of QuickBooks, choose Online Solutions > Manage Services > Set Up Intuit Sync Manager.

  6. On the Intuit App Center (IAC) sign-in page, sign in.
  7. Select Use an existing company and then click Next.


    Sync Manager will then Sync your QuickBooks company file to IAC. The sync time varies based on file size and the progress meter may fluctuate. This is normal. Please be patient and let it do its thing.

  8. Once sync is complete, you'll receive a Sync Complete! message. Close out of this window and return to Intuit Full Service Payroll.
  9. From the Set Up QuickBooks page, click Continue.The IAC login page will display.
  10. Log in to IAC using the same user ID and password you used when setting up Sync Manager in QuickBooks (step 6).
  11. From the Connect Your Company page, click Continue.
  12. Select the Business Profile with the Realm ID that matches the QuickBooks Company Realm ID. Generally, this is the first Business Profile on the list. Then, click Continue.
  13. Map your Intuit Full Service Payroll transactions to your QuickBooks chart of accounts. These are the accounts within your chart of accounts that you want to send your payroll data to.
  14. Once you've selected your accounts, click Finish!

After Sync Manager is set up

After Sync Manager is set up, you can start exporting your payroll transactions to QuickBooks.
