Form 941 or 944: Do I send a payment when I file Form 941 or 944?

It depends on your deposit schedule.

• If your deposit schedule is quarterly or annually, pay when you file the form.
• If you pay your taxes monthly or with each payroll and you pay on time, there's nothing to pay when you file your federal form.

Based on your deposit schedule, you receive tax reminders when payments are due. You can pay your taxes more often than required, but if you pay taxes late, penalties and interest will accrue.
