Direct deposit processing times

For direct deposit paychecks to be funded on time, you must submit payroll before 3:00 pm, 2 business days before the check date.

Earliest / latest submission dates

We recommend that you submit your payroll in a timely manner. You can submit your payroll up to 45 days before the pay date and as late as 2:59 pm PT on the submission date. If you miss your submission deadline, you can create a paper check instead.

Federal banking holidays

Federal banking holidays are not considered business days. To pay employees on time, you must adjust the payroll submission date to allow for the 2 business days needed to process payroll and direct deposits. If a payday falls within 2 banking days of a holiday, payroll must be submitted 1 day earlier than usual.

If a payday falls on a federal banking holiday and you don't adjust the submission date, direct deposit paychecks will be posted on the first business day after the banking holiday.

See the federal banking holiday processing deadlines for the current tax year.

* For holidays falling on a Saturday, Federal Reserve banks and branches will be open the preceding Friday.

** Holidays falling on a Sunday will be observed on Monday.
