Prepare and file T4 slips

1. In the navigation bar, click Taxes > Payroll Tax.
2. Click Annual Forms.
3. Click T4 slip (employee) to prepare T4 slips to give to your employees.
4. Click View to open the slips in Adobe Acrobat.
5. Make sure all the information is correct.
6. Print the slips, and deliver them to your employees before the end of February.

2. Click Annual Forms.
3.  Click the type of form.
   1. Click T4 slip (employer) to prepare an employer copy of all your T4 slips to submit to the CRA.
   2.  Click T4 Summary to prepare a summary of remuneration paid to submit to the CRA.
4. Click View to open the form in Adobe Acrobat.
5. Make sure all the information is correct.
6. Print the form and close the Adobe Acrobat window.
7. Click Archive to save a copy of the form.
8. Submit your T4 Summary and the employer copy of your T4 slips to the CRA. The mailing address is included in the instructions on the last page of your printed form.

Before you can file T4 slips online, enter your transmitter number on the Federal Tax page of your payroll settings. Click the gear icon to access your payroll settings. If you don't have your transmitter number yet, enter 555555.

2. Click Annual Forms.
3. Click T4 slip (employer) to prepare an employer copy of all your T4 slips to submit to the CRA. 
4. On the page for the form, click View to open the form in Adobe Acrobat.
5. Make sure all the information is correct. When you are done, close the window.
6. In the T4 window, click Submit.
7. Follow the directions on the screen to download your slips as an XML file and upload the file to the CRA website.

You can file information returns over the internet only during the CRA hours of service.

When you file online, you don't need to file a T4 Summary.
