Create paychecks for all employees

We'll walk you through the easy steps when you're ready to run your payroll for a group (or all) of your employees for the first time. To make this simply and easy, we're going to break the steps up in 3 parts:

Part 1 — Select the employees to pay and start your payroll

  1. In the left navigation bar, select Employees.
  2. Click Run payroll.
  3. If you have more than one pay schedule, select the one to use, and then click Continue. Why would I use more than one pay schedule?
  4. On the Enter employee pay details page, select the appropriate Pay period and the Pay date (the date you want printed on the check or pay stub).
  5. All employees in the list are automatically selected for you. If a new employee is missing, add the employee.

Part 2 — Enter employee hours, pay types, and preview your payroll

  1. For each hourly employee, enter hours in the appropriate columns, such as Regular Pay Hrs, OT Hrs, or Holiday Pay Hrs, depending on what you've set up for the employee. Hours are already filled in if the employee's hours were entered on a time sheet.)
  2. Enter dollar amounts as needed for types of pay such as Commission or Reimbursement.
  3. If you need to review or enter more details than the columns you see, click the gear icon on the right of the page. You can show more columns by checking the boxes next to the columns you want to see.
  4. What if some pay types or deductions are missing?

  5. When you're done filling in hours or compensation for all employees, click Preview payroll.
  6. On the Preview page, be sure to check your work.

Part 3 — Submit your payroll and finish

  1. After you've reviewed your payroll, click Submit payroll.
  2. When you're satisfied with all the paychecks, click Finish payroll.
  3. If this is the first time you're paying your employees, we'll ask you to set up the kind of paper to use when printing paychecks and pay stubs.
  4. Click View & Print.
  5. Choose to save or skip check numbers.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. View reports or go on to other tasks. You're done until next payday!
